Dear Readers,
What's the trick when installing hotfixes for Exchange 5.5 SP4 on an Cluster with a Exchange group. Normally you follow the procedure with the article Q174799, but I still get the error message: "Cannot write file, disk full or protected".
Situation:
Three shared (external) disks E, F, and G (owner Node A) with the Exchange Group (owner Node A). When I stop all Exchange services (or all resources in the Exchange group) I get the error message: "stop with the cluster administrator the MS Exchange IS or all shared resources before you can continu with installing the hotfix".
When I move all active groups from Node A (preferred owner) to Node B and PAUSE Node A. I still cannot install the Exchange POST-SP4 hotfixes on Node A because the Exchange files are on shared (external) disks.
What's the right way to do it?
Greetings,
Iwan
