Hello everyone. Okay, here we go: I've been tasked to build two replacement terminal servers. These terminal servers are Win2k3 servers. I have to install the Novell groupwise client onto the server so that term server clients can access their email whenever they log in. The problem I'm having is that everytime I execute the Groupwise app, it asks for my password, I put it in, the splash screen appears and then nothing. The notify icon is functional but when I attempt to read the mail, nothing happens. Does anyone have any solution on correctly installing Groupwise on a Win2k3 Terminal server?

Thanks

what properties are on the shortcut .exe
it shouldnt ask password
the client should install no probs
do you client set the password so that it isnt required with edir or is it just the set and let it prompt you

it may actually be that you need to check the registry as it may be set to login as the installer and it's his pwd that is prompting as it's someone else logged in

what splash screen?

The splash screen I'm talking about is the one that comes up to let you know that you're using 'Novell Groupwise 6' As for the id of the installer, the installer would be me! This is just the client so I'm lost as to what could be the problem. When I looked in the event logs, an error message stated:

"Faulting application GrpWise.exe, version 6.0.5.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x011c3f48."

I have un-installed and re-installed the client and I'm still getting this result.

the last part seems to ring a bell

what client are you running

if i was you i would

uninstall groupwise - download the cleaner and clean
remove windows messaging
then change user /install
run client install
let it reinstall the messaging
then should be ok
you can remove your name from reg later

you dont have outlook or any other viral programmes on it

That did it Terry712. Thanks!!
