I now it's not supported.. but I am in the process of upgrading to 8.0 and I need to make sure I get my test environment correct

if we have not purchased the Process Server module for GP7.5, when I install 7.5 (not the additiona products) can I deselect the two reference to the process server?

I am having many errors doing my migration and I am looking for any possible reasons...

I guess the correct question would be:
while installing GP7.5 if I deselect the 2 items for Process Server... will that affect my migration if I am migrating a possible installation of GP7.5 with them installed but not registered?

Daren,

We usually deselect those Process Server options during the install. I have not seen that cause issues with a migration. What errors are you getting?

Installing the process server just copies the DPS.EXE and DPM.EXE files to the application folder. It would not be the cause of any data issues.

Thank you for your reply.

I am getting contraddicting information from our partner, and we are at the point where we can't feel like trusting them with our needs.

Right now I have determined that one 3rd party module is blocking our upgrade from our test environment and I am looking to find instructions on how to uninstall this module safely from GP without runing data...

The GP installation I am migrating to our test environment has this module installed... I have to uninstall it before I can proceed with the upgrade to 8.0

Daren

Please note that you must upgrade all 3rd party dictionaries as well when you upgrade Great Plains. Please contact the ISVs involved for their updates.

You can remove the dictionary by editing the Dynamics.set.

Please see the following KB article

Hi David, and thanks for the KB article.

You are saying that to remove a 3rd party module all I have to do is remove it from the launch set file?

What if this 3rd party module changed forms and tables? I know how to remove permissions so that the users don't user the modified forms but I was wondering if there was a way to 'take back' any modifications done to tables (I understand that there might a portion of data-loss involved in this)

Thank you again,

Let me be more specific

after migrating my current 7.5 environment to a test server, I proceed with the upgrade to 8.0.
The upgrade always fails on this table:
Item Serial Lot Numbering History Table, I think it's the IV30400 one.

In my production environment I have something like 9 million records in that table, but as soon as the upgrade fails that table is empty.
So far our partner has not been able to figure it out, not even with help from Ms.
Obviously our budget is low or I would just had it out to them and have them work on it day in and day out, but unfortunaltely it's not our case.
