Installing gcc-3.2.2 on IRIX 6.5.15f

I downloaded the gcc-3.2.2 package, and loaded it on an SGI o2 running IRIX 6.5.15f. I configure the file, but then every time I do a "make" I get a make file 'Makefile' line 1250: syntax error. Help please! Thanks!!
