Installing Feature Release 2

Hi..

I am in the process of planing my XP server farm, I want to know do I need to install Feature Release 1 before installing Feature Release 2 or can I just install Feature Release 2 on base Citrix Server.

If you are just now purchasing your Citrix Licensing I believe FR2 is included in the MetaFrame install by default. That is to say it is installed, but to enable the features you need to install the FR2 connection packs and set the Feature Release level in the CMC. You shouldn't need to install FR1 first. I hope that answers your question.

The citrix licenses where purchased over a year ago, the medium that I have only has metaframe, and I have a separate disk for Feature Release 1. I have just downloaded Feature Release 2 from the net.

You can just install FR2 onto a clean Terminal Server - the base software is indeed included - but you 'll need the FR2 licenses to use the FR2 features, otherwise you'll just have FR1 features with the SP2 hotfixes.

You do not need to first install FR1. You should review the FR2 advanced concepts guide for more information.
