I am having difficulty installing FA331 on SCO openserver 8

The custom command is different from the way it is described in the help file on the FA311 diskette. Below is what I get when I try it.

This is what is happening.

I start the program called "custom"
it brings up a menu with 1 item in it. "1. Add a Supported Product"
That is the only option other than "q" to quit.
I enter "1"
you get

Please enter media type:

1. Floppy
2. Tape
3. Disk Image
Select an option or enter "q" to quit

It doesn't matter which one I try 1 or 3. I get the same thing.

It prompts you for the diskette.

after that you get a error that read as follows:

UX: tar: ERROR: Directory checksum error
ERROR extraction of ./tmp/parms failed: try again? (Y/N)

you get that same error when you use "3" for disk image..

If you have had this, or a similar problem, please tell me what you did to fix it. Thank you very much.

OpenServer 8? I don't think there's such a thing... either OpenServer 5.0.x or UnixWare 8 is more likely. In which case, are you sure this software is compatible with your operating system?

Please post a uname -a so we can be sure. Annihilannic.
