Installing Enterprise 8.0

I have installed Enterprise V 8 and set-up the eportfolio. I have installed various patches, but this has caused errors. If I re install without removing CE8 will this overwrite the report instances that I have within eportfolio.


HELP !!!!
 
What kind of errors?

Have you thought about rolling the update(s) off. There is a restore.txt file in the patch folder that should tell you how to do this, but it can be painfully slow.

A reinstall should not affect your instances since they were not created by the original installation. You should certainly backup the \FileStore folder before doing this.

From Add/Remove Programs you can click the Change button and then choose Repair, but remeber that when installing files that exist and that which are newer than the ones being installed, typically do not get changed, so running a reinstall on a patched machine may not have much effect.

Sadly, you may be looking at an uninstall and a re-install

Post your error though first. It might not be that bad

Hi Thanks for this, I looked at the restore option but seemed painstakingly slow, I have installed the patch for the active X viewer and now it takes 2 minutes to load the report to the screen, I will try the restore option and see if this works, hopefully this will.
