I can't install Eicon C90 card over SCO Openserver Enterprise system 5.0.5 or 5.0.7. When I get to the step in which I have to choose which card to install, I type an option but when I press enter to go to the next screen to continue with the installation, its gets back to the same screen where you have to choose the card. Is there anybody that has had this problem or have an idea of what's going on??

If the Eicon C90 is like most 3rd party NIC cards, its drivers are not included on the SCO CD, so the OS install does not recognize it. You probably will need to install it separately after the OS install is completed.

Typically how this works is you bypass the NIC setup during the initial install. After everything else is installed you then install the driver software package for the card using the software manager (there is probably a SCO media image either provided with the card or available by download from the manufacturer). After the driver software is installed SCO should then be able to recognize the card and you can install it from the network manager.

That is of course assuming that the manufacturer provides a SCO media image for the card. If not, then you will need to get a different card.

I made the initial installation normally, without considering the existence of the card. After that I installed the driver for the card that is provided by Eicon using custom, but it's in this situation that SCO does not recognize the card. Any idea why??

At this point I would guess that it may be an interrupt conflict with something else on the server that is preventing it from seeing the card.

It could also be that the driver is not compatible with SCO 5.0.5 or 5.0.7. Have you looked for more current drivers from the manufacturer?

check. if ur bios has set up for pnp os. disable it. with pnp enabled, the bios does not look for cards and when disabled it loos for them.

in nut shell is ur h/w recognising the card

ur feedback is a very welcome desire

To see if the bios knows the existence of the NIC you can do
the following:
Code:
hw -r pci
