My company is buying DIDs from a third party company and I am suposed to install them in my Meridian 81c. I have never done this. Can someone tell me how and what LD?

Are these coming in on a T-1 or copper trunks? Replacing existing trunks or in addition to what you have?

Let me guess - the numbers start with 9 ~ True or false. If true, then you will need to do Digit Conversion. If false, then it will probably be as easy as this: If you ordered 414-555-2000 thru 2099 , just program 2000 on a KEY and call the number. Done

A new T1 has been installed. I don't know what the numbers are yet but I don't believe that they start with 9. The third party will tell me what they are and then I have to put them into the switch so that when I do a LUDN they will all show up

You do not have to do anything except make sure the range of DID's they give you do not conflict with anything else in your PBX. If they do, tell the company to come up with some other range for you. If they cannot and you still need to get the numbers, you are going to have to do digit conversion as GH said.
An interesting question to me would be why you went with a "third party" for your DID range, DID's are pretty cheap no matter where you get them, was there another reason? ie cheaper voice circuit that you needed?
