Hi I am trying to install DHCP on a server which is Windows Server 2003 Small Business Edition Service Pack 2.
I goto add remove then windows compents and details for network services and checked the DHCP option but while it is installing when it says status: completing configuration of management and monitoring tools a pop box titled "optional network components" opens with the following message:
an error occurred which prevented the dynamic host configuration protocol (dhcp) component from being installed or removed. the error was 'the data is invalid.'
Then it says you have completed the windows components installation but ofcourse DHCP is not installed.
I have googled the rror but can find absolutely nothing on it jsut similiar hits for different things with a similar sounding error but nothing for this error with DHCP.
Can anyone help me to get DHCP working on this server without having to format and reinstall the whole thing?
