installing/configuring intouch on BCM50

we have a BCM50, release 5.0 with 5 intouch licenses/seats. I ran the setup on the client computers, and it installed successfully, but when i open outlook the intouch panel says "no lines are configured for your use, contact your administator"

so my question is, where do i configure the lines/DN's for this? the installation guide doesnt mention configuring anything on the bcm side other then having the keycodes installed(which they are)

Thanks, i have intouch all set up and working, with the exception of one annoying issue.

I've imported my address books, but when i click on a number from the address book, i get an error that says "the number you attempted to call was not a dialable number"

-if i edit the number, and put a 9 before it, it works.

-if i enter it manually with a 9 before it, it works

I set the external dial digit in the mainsettings.html to '9' and placed it in the same folder as the intouch installer. below is my .xml file:

- <InTouchConfiguration>
- <OptionsSection Type="LANCTESection" VoiceMail="5974">
<BcmAddress IP="192.168.1.5" />
- <Dialing>
<CountryId>1</CountryId>
<AreaCode>508</AreaCode>
<ExternalDialDigit>9</ExternalDialDigit>
</Dialing>
</OptionsSection>
</InTouchConfiguration>

i also tried it without entering that, and using the following, but that did not help:

- <InTouchConfiguration>
- <OptionsSection Type="LANCTESection" VoiceMail="5974">
<BcmAddress IP="192.168.1.5" />
</OptionsSection>
</InTouchConfiguration>

im sure there is a simple fix for this, but i cant seem to figure it out?

any help appreciated!

Set your dialing rules in Windows.Lan CTE uses your Windows dialing rules.

thanks, im not farmiliar with windows.lan, where can i find this? is it on the bcm/pc installed w/ intouch?(i have access to these) or would this be on the exchange server?(someone else maintains this)

i went into phone and modem options in control panel. i clicked edit on the only entry(my location) and set "to access an outside line for local calls dial" to 9. i did the same for long distance. i then reinstalled intouch and rebooted.

still not working. i tried 91 for outside calls, still no luck.

thoughts?

after changing the dialing rules/plan in windows, and reinstalling Lan CTE, my contacts in intouch now automatically have a 9 and 1 and area code in front of them...

however, when i add a new contact in outlook, and add that contact to intouch, it only has a 9 before the number. i used the same format as i did for all the other contacts:

(xxx) xxx-xxxx

i also tried

+1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx
+1 (xxx) xxx xxxx
+1 xxx xxx xxxx
+1 xxx-xxx-xxxx

those all result in intouch showing a number of:

9 xxx-xxx

im not sure what im missing to get new added contacts to have 9 1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx like the others show?

Ok, so the problem seems to be that intouch will ignore the area code for any number in your contacts that has the same area code as your own listed in windows....

this has to be some kind of bug, as we have had ten digit dialing locally for some time now...

for a workaround i just set my areacode in windows to 999, and all is good

thanks for the help!
