Greetings!!

I am installing components in BCB3, and for every component I install the previously installed gets uninstalled!

I am only able to have 1 extra component installed! Why?
Can it be something with the fact that I am using standard?

Need an answer... Martin G Broman

It may be related to an outdated comctl32.dll. There was some talk about this causing problems with Delphi and BCB tool bars. There was a dicusssion about this at Deja News but they've been bought out by Google and I can't find it very easily.

The easiest way to update this DLL is update IE. You could also download 50COMPUD from MicroSoft. Look at support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q186/1/76.asp for more info.

Greetinx!

I think what you may need to reinstall your version of Builder3....it may help!

I got it to work now.... seems as if I forgot to save the ‘DCLUSR35.bpl’ file (think the extension was .bpl, not sure though)! Something I didn’t know was necessary!
Now I only got another problem, it appears as if some components are not working, the way they should, when installing them. One caused a major accident, the dclusr35.bpl file was somehow deleted... and I couldn’t find it again, so I had to install all the components again.
Is there anyway to make sure the installed components remain installed? Such as copy this ‘dclusr35.bpl’ file to another location so it can be overwritten next time I install BCB3?? If so, is there any other file(s) that must be copied (that is beside the component files)??

thanks,
Martin! Martin G Broman

You can at any time copy all the dclusr35.* files to a backup location. When you have a problem copy them back and re-activate the User Component Package. Once dclusr35 is compiled all you actually need is the .lib file. The rest of the files are only to update/add components to the user package.
