Installing Codec for Divx Support?

My Premiere 6.5 won't recognize Divx files. I read a thread saying AP will recognize/import a Divx file if you install the Divx codec, is this correct?

Is there a specific location on my drive where the Divx codec needs to be installed in order for AP to recognize Divx files?
