Installing certificates on multiple CAS

I have 2x CAS servers. On one, EXCA1, I have used the EMC to generate a CSR and sent this to Thawte who have sent back a *.cer file

I can use the EMC on EXCA1 to 'Complete pending request' and it asks me for this .cer file. I then need to 'Assign Services to Certificate'.

The question is how to I get this new certificate onto the other server, EXCA2???

If I select EXCA2 in the EMC and select 'Import Exchange Certificate' it asks for a .pfx file.

I suspect, correct me if I'm wrong, that on EXCA1 I use EMC to 'Export Exchange Certificate' after I've got the new certificate working and this allows outputs a .pfx file which I can then import on EXCA2. Is that correct?

Yes, that is correct. I usually use the Certificate MMC to do the export/import, but the process is very similar using the EMC. Just keep an eye out for the "Include private key" option and make sure it's selected. It probably already includes that by default, since the cert would be useless without it in the EMC context.
