I just formatted my hard drive on a tablet PC and it doesn't have an internal CD rom. I have an external floppy that works fine and I have a external USB CD ROM hooked up to it now also but don't how to get the CD ROM installed so I can install windows 98. I am just at the dos prompt with a boot disk. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Brian

Does the windows 98 boot disk not recognise the cd rom on boot up when option one (boot with cd rom support) is selected ?

Liam.

Yeah. Check your BIOS and go to boot options (or whatever it is called). Find the "boot order" and move the CD-ROM higher up on the list. Since it's USB, maybe there will be an option to boot from an "external device" or somesuch. Maybe it's impossible to boot from a USB CD-ROM. --
