To all:

I have searched through the forums here, googled, and looked through the UniverCD on Cisco's website. I have found some helpful tips that have gotten me further down the install path than when I started, but I am still having issues.

I am working with a pair of MCS 7835-H1 units. These are 3.4 Ghz procs with 2 gigs RAM each. I am trying to install CCM 3.3 from the 14 disc install sets. (My reasoning for 3.3 is that we have a 3.3 box in production, and my boss wants to restore that database in our lab).

I started off getting the error message about unsupported hardware and found the fdimage boot floppy fix. That got me into the installer just fine. I selected new install, and was asked to insert disc 8, etc, etc. about 10 minutes into the install, I see two images load from the CD, then the system reboots to a command not found, and I end up at the RAMdisk drive prompt (d:\).

I have also seen that I can install Windows and SQL beforehand and add some registry keys to get CCM to install. In that reading, I've also seen a lot of people complain about permissions problems. Because of this, I'd rather get the installer to install everything clean. Can anyone point me in the right direction for this?

I have been able to do both installs, the Reg hack and the FDimage. The fdimage seems to be the flakier of the 2 methods. The install works well if you can get it installed. But it seems to be very fickle.

If you want the fixes for the Reg hack permission issues, here they are.

BARS Installation Problem
Look at the security eventlog for an error regarding rights to logon. The problem is that the installer is trying te logon with the IUSR_guest or IWAM????? This user has no rights to do that. To quickley solve the problem make the user a member of the administrators group or give the user more rights (in local security policy). Re-install BARS again. Then it should work.
