Installing C

We would like to install the C compiler on our AIX 4.3.3.0. We have the operating sysytem cd's but can't find the items to add.

Can somebody help ?

The C compiler comes on a seperate CD which you have to buy. Alternatively you could download the gcc compiler for free. GCC is available as an AIX installp image from the following:

Do you want to USE IBM C Compiler or GCC compiler.
IBM's C compiler can be downloaded from IBM's website.

We are tried installing gcc as suggested but on testing the installation got the following;


/user10/gtmp/meters >gcc -o count counter.cpp
counter.cpp:356:1: warning: no newline at end of file
Assembler:
/tmp/ccN33Vyc.s: line 86: 1252-191 Only .llong should be used for relocatable expressions

Any ideas ? Thanks everybody !
