We have just upgraded to Succession 4.5 and I have an 1120E that I would like to setup to try. I have read one post that states I have to create the phone as an I2002 which I have done, but when I plug in the phone, I only get 4 lights flashing constantly at the 4 corners of the phone and nothing ever appears on the display. Is there something our provider has to configure on Succesion because I don't recall him doing anything other than installing it,or can someone tell me what I am missing or provide me with a link to some documentation.

Thanks in advance

Did you configure the IP adress setup on the phone and define the same through element mgr

Do you have a signaling server? If so was it upgraded?
can you ping the node id, ip address from the phone location on customer lan.

Two ways to have IP Phones on Nortel PBXs:
1- Using ITG or Media Card as IP Line feature
2- Using a SigServ and Media Card

For 2nd way, check if your system has a SS: LD 117 STAT SERV. If system answer no node configured, you don't have SS.

For 1st way, search for any ITG or MC in your PBX. If one, it may display Lxxx, meaning it's a Leader board with xxx sets registered to it.

When starting your 1120, boot time is about 45s. Then display shows the Nortel Logo, then display NORTEL down the screen. At that time, you may configure the set for all ip parameters. If you don't, the set will try to search for a DHCP server to get its IP@ and Server@.
So, when NORTEL is displayed, press the 4 key under the screen sequencely from left to right within 2s. you will have access to ip configuration for the ones you need the server@. Ask your vendor for it.
