Installed v4.035 on a clean XP box. Installed Netbeui, set lana to 0. Transferred current Data file with correct INI. Work station can see BOH and vice versa. When firing the Iber executable the program starts initializing network then kicks out and logs off the computer. The only thing I see that doesn’t look right is when I check the permissions from the old NT BOH, the Aloha directory on the workstation is not set to full control for everyone, just Term2 and the options are greyed out to change. It has worked on another station for some time. I know the software is old but no way have the funds to upgrade. Any help would be appreciated, thxs.

Since you can confirm they can see each other, have you tested if they have permission to write to each other. Try to create a simple notepad file in the aloha tmp folder. Also check in your temp folder on the terminal for a debout it will point out whats wrong. If you get stuck reach out to me. I have been doing aloha since ver 3.6 so this will be easy

thank you so much! I finally tried mapping to the BOH drive from the XP vs from BOH to workstation and bingo, it worked! What a pita. Now I am waiting for a 9-25 serial converter so that I can print to my hot printer and then all should be good with the world (for now). I am going to need to replace the very old NT BOH server soon. Any pointers? Thxs again.

Go to win7 and make your own cable.
How many terminals are you running
You can buy db9 female to rj45 and db25 to rj45 for less than a null modem cable would cost. Adapters are about $2 to $3 each

Reach out to me off line from here on more details on migration and all the fun issue you will run into.
