Hi,
Im using winNT Server, with 35 pc running win98 sec. Currently we're using one printer for all these PC's. I recently bought a new laserjet and was wondering if it was possible install this new printer via the server rather than manually going to each station, uninstalling the current printer and adding the drivers for the new one.
This would save me some time im sure in a day that doesnt have enough hours as is!
Thanks for your help.
Steve

Install the new driver on the server and un install the old printer.
Go to each station un-install the old printer and add the new one, the drivers will be pulled from the server provided you installed the drivers for 98 on the server as well.
During the install you will get the option to install additional drivers on your server.

Hope this helps

Thanks, Thats how I thought I had to do it, just thought there was a better way, Tahnks for the reply

Peace

I don't know if it works, but you can try as follow: as Administrator double-click Network Neighborhood in your Windows Desktop, then double-click to ComputerName, double-click Add Printer and to follow Add Printer Wizard. Previously, you must had installed the printer in those computer what will be server and shared it. Good luck!

there's no need to go to each of the workstations.
get a copy of the Zero Administration Kit from Microsoft at:
there is a utility called con2prt in there. this allows you to add and remove printers ie:
'con2prt /f' will remove existing printers while:
'con2prt \\server\queuename' will map a queue to \\server\queuename
if you use this command you can automate everything by adding and removing printer(s) via logon script...
