installing a dsm32 on 6 slot expansion module 1000e

How can I install a 5th dsm32 on the 1000e. When I install it just blinks and it will not say enable; but knowing I avaiable slots on the expansion I guessed it will be as plug and play? Any help will be great. Thanks!!!

Did you set the dip switches?
Are you setup for 2/6 or 3/5 split?
What are your other Mods dips set for?

Just because you have slots enabled doesn't mean you have DS30 loops available for the card. There are six loops available (or 5 if using a 3/5 split as Ace mentioned). What other cards are in the sytstem? If this is the fifth DSM, you could very well be out of resources assuming you have four DSM32's and analog/T1 trunks.

If you have four DSM 32+'s and only one T-1, you have room. If you have four DSM 32+, and two T-1's. you're maxed out. Same goes if you have one T-1 and some analog trunks or analog stations.

A DSM 32+ uses 1 BUS
A DSM 32 uses 2 BUS
A CTM8 uses 1/2 BUS
A CTm4 uses 1/4 BUS
A DTM uses 1 BUS
