Hi Folks

I inherited two p570s but none of them has an external tape drive for system backups. (The only backups are to TSM but there are no bootable system backups). I ordered a 4mm dat (7206 model 336 tape) drive and I am wondering how to install (and configure) it so that it is available to all the lpars (8 across the two frames) so that I can change tape to do a mksysb for each lpar.

Would appreciate your help. Thanks

You cant see it from all your lpars at the same time.

You have to use dlpar function to move one of your SCSI controlers Bus 3 T12 for example from one partition to another to move your DAT drive

Ok. That`s great. Thanks very much Gloups
