does anybody have any programming tips or suggestions on installing a cordless phone to the ATA port of the compact ICS. any programming steps or single line features that I can use on the cordless phone
whenever you have an analog phone on an ATA you kinda need the ATA user guide to know how do certain features, which always are done with a hook-flash (Nortel calls this 'Link'and I'll never understand why)
For example, i set up cordless phones on an ATA and give the user directions on how to hold and page from the phone (it's a bit ridculous though to page: Flash Flash # 601 err.... i can't remember all the steps...that's why i wrote them down)
Also make the port have an intercom line, dial 9 to get a trunk..
Have you already used the internal ata on the compact? it is built into compacts and you can access the analog port on the yellow/slate pair of the CO amphenol cable. JerryReeve

Usually with CICS I set up so a pool is prime line. With the cordless/ATA I do the same so they don’t have to dial 9. Then I print up a little cheat sheet of some codes and tape it to the back of the cordless set. Like:
Hold=flash2
Page=flash*631
CICS are typically smaller installs, and my customers generally want to be able to say “you have a call on Line X” so with a cordless you have to instruct how to transfer the call to the ATA DN, because I don’t think you can access a specific held line with codes. Does anyone know if that can be done? It might just be easier to train them in park and page depending on the circumstance.
