I only have one phone socket in my house (in the lounge) and am having my line converted to ADSL. I don't really want my PC in my lounge and would like to install a phone socket in my spare room upstairs. I have cabled both phone wire and CAT5 and don't have a problem there.

My question is simply this, can I cable a 2nd phone point into another room and then connect the ADSL microfilter into that point and then connect my ADSL modem there??

Are there any problems I have to look out for??

Thanks

jatkinson,

Yes, you can. Just a note, the microfilters are used for connecting any NON-DSL devices to the phone line. If you connect a micro-filter to the DSL modem it will not work.

The micro-filter screens out the upper frequencies, which would be heard as noise, so you can use the line for voice communications.

Hope that helps.
