A friend has just recently bought a copy of 9.2.1 CD (full install). She is upgrading from 8.5 on a Beige G3 and needs to get to 9.2.1 and will then use the 9.2.2 upgrade from Apple.

My question is, does she have to install all of the "in between" versions (8.6...9.0...etc.) before she can install from her 9.2.1 CD? I was under the impression that you could install 9.2.1 direct from the CD since it is a "full install" right out of the OS 9 box.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The CDs are full installs. You do not need to step up.

That's what I had thought and/or assumed but wanted to make sure my logic wasn't flawed. :) ie., A full install means FULL install.

Should I "nuke" everything off the hard drive before installation?

Thank you very much, jimoblak!

fyi, every Apple OS CD (that I've seen so far) is really a full install version. Even back in the day, when you bought the 7.6.1 "update", you could still do a complete clean install from the CD. Of course, if you download an OS patch, that's a different story. ________
Remember, you're unique... just like everyone else.
