Is there any way we can install the ts_install.bin file on multiple LIMs remotely, it seems like after the installation a shutdown is needed and after that there is no access to the system, assuming u keep the same ip addresses and network configuration?

do you mean turnkey installation on remote lims??

you can always set the correct IP address/hostname on the remote lims and then do a software installation from LIM1
it will copy the needed RPM' on the remote lims (after that you can reboot each LIM)

I tried that, but the installation failed, with an error message ldap failed to start properly on remote lim, checked etc/init.d/eri_ladp on remote LIM and it was running. any ideas?

let me guess, is it 3.1 SP3 you are trying to install??

Am using 3.2 build 32 in my lab, but the real site will be 3.1 SP3, why?

there is a problem with an LDAP parameter with new 3.1 SP3 installs, normally an SA will soon be posted about this.

On LIM1 the file /etc/openldap/slapd.conf contains a 'threads' parameter. for some reason or another they set the parameter to 5 while it should be 6. (you will get error messages in /var/log/messages about too much connections).
restart eri_ldap after changing the parameter (if it is needed).
