Installing 20+ analog devices, do I need 20+ analog ports?

I have 20+ devices I need to setup to dial out to process Credit cards. Is there a way I can setup some type of phone bank that knows what line is open so I don’t take up 20+ analog ports?

Thanks

You can wire these up on a bunching block and have say 10 lines feeding 20 jacks. If you start getting busy signals you can add more numbers to the most used? Just my first thoughts.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

That might work but I see myself getting a lot of calls because of busy signals. I was hoping to do this through definity with a pool of 5 or so ports. Any other thoughts?

Well isn't this one of the uses of a PBX ? Map a certain number of analog ports to outside lines ?

tn746b with 16 ports are $10 or less on ebay. Are you completely out of slots?

Yes, adding 20 would get us close to our limit on analog ports. I’m not sure what adding another board would do to our maintenance agreement. I did call avaya and asked this question and they said it wasn’t possible to do this.

It's not possible to add a card?

from a maintenance standpoint, if memory serves they only inventory once a year or a quarter or something...
