When trying to install any program, I receive the following error:

"Internal Error 2932. C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{DED53BOB-B67C-4244-AE6A\-D6FD3C28D1EF}\(anyfile).exe, 131"

I've tried to unregister and register msiexec.exe, but no luck. Finding lots of people via Google with the same issue, but no solutions. I am running Windows XP Pro SP2.

Any suggestions?

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with MSI.

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
