installed SWEN removal tool; still getting SWEN virus emails

Hello:

I ran the SWEN 32 removal tool from Symantec, but when I open up Outlook Express, I am still receiving all of the SWEN virus messages. It shows that they are being filtered by Norton Antivirus, but they are still getting through to my inbox.

Is that to be expected, or did something go wrong with the virus removal tool?

Howdy:

Keep expecting it.. Simply removing the virii from your system doesn't mean all systems were cleaned and it is those systems with your email addy in them that are sending you the virii !!

So the messages that I am still getting that purport to be from Microsoft, are really viruses sent from someone else? I'm getting about 20/day still

Yep.. Swen sets up its own smtp server and puts the Microsft name in the "From" box..
