I used to run Win2K on my home PC without any trouble. I have recently bought a second hard drive and installed Redhat Linux on it. Linux runs fine on there (although I can't get my ADSL modem to work - but thats a separate matter). The trouble is when I use Windows now it is REALLY slow - it takes about 5 minutes to boot and about 5 minutes to open Explorer. If I ever browse the directory structure and go up to "My Computer" I'm lucky if it loads at all - I assume it's because it's trying and failing to read my second hard drive with Linux on.

Please help - I want to move to Linux but need Win2K.

Is the windows drive still on the correct chain as it was before? Like IDE 0,Master .

If it isn't, it could cause problems like this. Still, this problem is a new one to me. Please let Tek-Tips members know if their posts were helpful.
