Installation

I am new to linux and trying to install mysql and openoffice. I am running Red Hat 7.0. When I double-click on the .tar install I get a mesagebox that says "No Action Taken." I am sure this is simple but I cant seem to figure it out.

What tar ? where at all ossible under redhat, use .rpm files, double clicking these should give better results ;-) ______________________________________________________________________

This is the file that I downloaded from the MySql site: mysql-3.23.55-pc-linux-i686.tar. Is this the wrong file?
