Hi there,

I am a Linux user trying out FreeBSD.

How long is the installation process supposed to be?

I tried several times and it always get stuck during "uncompressing ports" process.

I tried to re-install without ports and again it gets slower and slower and slower.
Am I having a problem or the installation is just very long?

Thank you

I just reinstalled FreeBSD 4.4 and I had the same problem and the instalation actually stuck. I foubd a bit of detergent and a quick wipe sorted that one out. The basic installation should take about 30 - 60 minutes depending on what you want.

Thanks a lot for the reply.

I tried again and again on different machines and still the same.

I think I got my lesson about beta versions.

Bye
