I just reinstalled the Interdev on my Windows 2000 computer. It comes with Microsoft Visual studio. But The interface is different from it on other windows 2000 machine. The windows were not integrated together, they appear independently, not sure why.

Try: Tools/Options -> Environment/General

on this page UN-Tick the 'SDI Enviroment'

(SDI = Single Document Interface
(MDI = Multi-...

Actually, I prefer the separate windows - though they sometimes hide or cover your work, the important part (the design/code window) can then be made as large as you need.

Dear Friend:
I just changed my windows appearance based your suggestion. Thank you very much for your help. Have a good weekend. By the way, I would like to know what is the major difference between MS InterDev and MS frontpage. I only know the InterDev is for professional use and more powerful, but don't know the detail.

Thank you again

Haijun

I have not used frontpage (though most folk here would strongly recommend Dreamweaver). Its aim is to help DESIGN web pages, with very limited code support.

Interdev inherits the frontpage design window (ie still short of a decent design editor) and a half decent code editor - syntax colouring, pop-up object/method/properties lists, debug (if you can get it to work) and version control. Add to this: Design-Time-Controls (which some folk hate, but are really quite useful); and Database connectivity aids (DataEnvironment / Data Window); and some other stuff.

If you want to do Database work, then Interdev certainly helps (even better than Dreamwaver Ultradev).

If you only want static html pages (ie not ASP pages) then Frontpage or Dreamweaver is needed. (Content Management)
