by default the system checking the scsi id 5 and giving the
error no cd rom?

pls help

The 3.2v4.2 didn't support ide cdroms.

Why are you using this very old release?

i want to install win98& sco unix ver 5 and above (dual
boot) on a scsi hdd 17GB (10 gb for win98 and 7gb for unix), Is it possible?

i installed the above but have to make the partion active
so that the respective os is booting.

system config: PIII intel chipset Tekram dc-395 uw, seagate
baracuda 17gb hdd.

pls give the solution.

Just leave the SCO partion active. The SCO boot prompt can boot any partition.

See "man bootos" Tony Lawrence

You can install first the winTel and then the UNIX leaving as pcunix said the partition active(unix)

at the boot prompt just type

boot: bootos # where # is the number of the partition in which you install the WinTel.

I hope this can help you.

Can you pls tell me How to make a Unix Bootable disk & BTLR.Where there was an error while creating bootable disk by using the unix command scoadmin at the root. The error say's that the floppy cannot be written error while writing the clustor...:(.I think you can help in this matter.

mkdev fd

is the command to create boot/filesys disks. Making a BTLD is just a matter of putting the BTLD image onto a formatted floppy:

format /dev/fd0135ds18
dd if=/tmp/btldimage of=/dev/fd0135ds18 bs=18k

If you get an error, please be specific. What you got sounds like a hardware or media error.
