Im having a problem on a clients server,
with the installation of SQL Server 2000.

I've attempted to remove it, and reinstall it many times.

But I usually end up with the following errors in the setup log:

-- copy --

SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS

-m -Q -T4022 -T3659

Connecting to Server ...

driver={sql server};server=WITCHEL;UID=sa;PWD=;database=master

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Shared Memory]ConnectionOpen (Connect()).

Can anyone please help!?

Is it possible that the sa name and password has been changed? It appears that the sa username and blank password (which is the default) is no longer a valid username and/or password. Try to use another login that has sa writes and try again.

Good luck

So do I use command line based setup? Instead of the normal gui based?

Or use the gui with a parameter?

Let me know :)

That error isn't a username and password issue. It's having a problem connecting to the service on the server "WITCHEL". Is that the name of the server?

Make sure that it's actually starting the service correctly.
