I installed the evaluation copy of CF Professional server 4.5.2. The entire installation went thru perfectly without any error. But when I went to test the installation it gave me the Explorer's "File Save As" dialogue box instead of executing the test.cfm file on the browser.

What will be the problem ? I have checked that my web server is running fine.

OS - Win NT 4.0
Web server - Win Nt IIS 4.0

Thanks.

Ketan

it's only that your WEB server doesn't know the .cfm extension - so it's not about coldfusion server
i only know how to configure netscape server so if you use some other web server, i won't be able to help ... basically find where to edit the types and then add cf ones !!

Ketan, make sure you enable "Execute" in the properties of the directory of IIS where you want to put your CF pages.
Hope this helps...

I checked the properties if both the CFDOCS as well as CFIDE directories in IIS and both are with "Execute" permission.

The only thing I found is that as per the reply of "Iza" above, in IIS in the properties of Default Web Site when I went to Home Directory -> Configuration, I couldn't find the .cfm extension. So I need to add one but I don't know which executable path to put i.e which dll file I should link. I did this when I installed PHP and it worked. So this may be the problem.

Please help.

Thanks

Ketan.

you should check if there is a iis forum here, if there is, then it's the place to ask --> you'll get better answers from iis "experts" than cf "experts" about iis

Thanks a lot.

I figured out the file to be selected as the executable path for .cfm, .cfml, .dbm extension. It is "iscf.dll" and is located in CFUSION/BIN directory.

Thanks a lot again for the help.
