HI!

I have already installed MS SQL Server 2005.

Is it possible to create embedded database with this version of SQL Server?

I want to create database, that i would be able to put on CD with an aplication and use it from CD.

Do i need for this SQL 2005 Express or can i do it with Standard version of SQL server?

Thanks four answers!

Bye!

I have already read this article on that page and i downladed installation file, but i can't install it because, all other instances of SQL Server 2005 has to be preveously removed.

But i need that so i can't remove them...

What else can i do?

Any suggetions?

hum..

if you customer/computer already has a valid SQL Server (2005) installed then you should use that one.

If not then you should install the MSDE version.

It is up to your install program do detect if a install of MSDE is required or even wanted.

i don't need this for customer, i need that for my application, somkind of catalogue where would no installation be required.

I wann't to put embedded database file and my exe file on Compact Disc and it has to work without installation!

as far as I know you cannot do that with any version SQL Server.

the core engine and all system stuffs must be installed.

If you wish to have a app that runs completely on CD then change to another db system. I think that using access files will allow you to do just that.
