Installation of Pro 2003 rolls back....

When I run the setup it appears that all is well but then as I am watching it, it states "rolling back action".
It then completes without any messge or anything but its not installed on my machine.

machine:
Xp
Norton AntiVirus Pro2003.

any ideas?

End task on all background programs, try it again. Also, try searching symantec's knowledge base.
