Installing an M8 module on an 8X24 DS DR5 and have a C6 installation guide Apparently the M8 is installed the same way????...can anyone confirm this. Is there any special programming that I need to know or will it work the same way as Caller ID on a Modular ICS does? Thanks.

The M8 wires the same way. First 8 pairs of the amphenol going to the M8 correspond to the first 8 lines of the 824. You also connect an available station port to the 2 screw terminals on the M8. Then it should just be a matter of programming the CID display sets. Brian Cox

M8 module seems to work fine and installation was easy. However when I use the Logit feature and go back to review the number and automatically dial it back, it only will dial 7 digits when we use 10 digit local dialing. The number on the display looks like this: 555-5555 (604) but will not dial the 604 when dialing back. The system is a 8x24DS with DR5 software. Can I fix the system with a program change or maybe 5.1 software is needed???

KSU will dial as it see's it to my knowledge....what part of the world do you live? never seen area code after the number before...maybe your telco can fix that problem for you.

Was onsite today and problem solved. When you review the logged tel number it looks like this including long distance numbers: 555-5555 (604) or 555-5555 (250) when automatically calling them back you simply view the number then enter 604 on the dial pad or 1 250 (for LD)the digits will be inserted infront of the 555-5555. select a line system will automatically call the number back. This must be the 8x24 DR5 because when I hooked a Alltel caller ID display unit to each line the caller ID string came in like 604-555-5555 or 1-250-555-5555 and redialed these numbers no problem telling me that the Telco was sending the correct information. Thanks for the responses.

So if I got your solution correct.. you are having the user pre dial the area code first, then using the call back feature? If I have got this right have you programed a 604 and a 1250 auto dial button for convenience?

Arr,
604 as you know is the first 3 digits of our local 10 digit number. I tried a 604 button but the system had problems inserting this before the viewed number in the call log, and couldn't redial it. But when you view the number and entered 604 on the dial pad,it inserted the 604 it called back the viewed call. I suspect the MICS, CICS with newer software works a little different. But I sold this at a discounted price and my customer is happy with the way it now works. Cheers
