I installed Linux 7.1 on x86, Now I need to configure other machines (I have other PCs with Windows 98/2000/xp) to talk with Linux which I installed on x86.
Samba is used to make a Linux server mimic a Windows file server. The Samba server looks like a Windows server to the Windows clients and can be browsed in Network Neighborhood.
You can find documentation at their main site, or you can find plenty of howtos if you do a google search for it. Here's a Samba guide that will get you started...
