My guess is you are using an incorrect bootstring. If you post more information about the motherboard, scsi card, drives, and the bootstring you are using, I may be able to help you, but without knowing which symbios/lsi adapter is built into the motherboard or how you are trying to install it I can't tell you what the problem is.
