installation failure

i am trying to install compaq insight manger 7 and when i try to connect to a remote datasoure i get the error message
"the version of the database does not meet the minimum requirements of insight manager 7"
i am trying to connect to a database on a sql 2000 eneterprise server with sp3
anyone help

Does SQL 2000 have its service pack installed as well?
