Can this be redirected to another file?
If using Smit to complete installation then by default it will go to root's home directory smit.log & smit.scrip for the commands use.
Using installp commnds in theory you should be able to redirect the output to a log file you wanted i have not tried it b-4

What we do when installin the SW - we use a diskete that assists the installation process by running different scripts at the stage of the basic operation system load,there one could redirect the installation log output.
