Hi,
I want to install windows xp in my computer using external storage device without CD/DVD ROM. Would anybody tell me, Is it possible to boot from external usb storage device?

Regards,

Your question is unclear.

Yes, you can boot from an external USB storage device IF:
1. Your computer supports booting from USB devices in the BIOS and
2. If the external device has something on it that is bootable.

The above has nothing to do with installing windows though. I don't know how you were thinking of installing Windows from an external drive once you were booted to it.

What is on it??

There are certain apps that will make a bootable Windows installation USB device from a Windows setup CD/DVD and will let you install Windows withuot the need for an optical drive.

With that said, as Goomb pointed out, whether it will work in your particular case depends on the computer in question and whether you have a full windows install media or merely a recovery disc.

^^^ Well aware of that Vacunita. Was trying to see if OP has any idea what they're doing and if they were asking two separate questions.

Only ask questions with yes/no answers if you want "yes" or "no"
