Hi,
this sunday was spent on trying to install VNC from the IBM Linux site. What a waste! I got stuck on all kinds of library dependencies when using the RPM tool to install vnc-3.3.3r1-2.aix4.3.ppc.rpm. :-(

It's complaining on perl (which is there!!) and libXext.a.

Anyone can give me a hint on how to install VNC (I don't care what kind of VNC it is)?!?!?

thanx you. :)

I had no problem installing the same VNC binaries you got from IBM linux site.

just rpm -i rpmpackage name.

It must be you system related problem. AIX version/ ML ?

Try also update you RPM (ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/aix/freeSoftware/aixtoolbox/INSTALLP/ppc/rpm.rte)

it is also possible to install ignoring deppendencies - as i remember by running:

rpm --nodeps -i rpmpackage
