is it possible to install the OS to anything other than C drive, say F. Conversely, is it possible at all to change an already installed OS partition from C to any other drive letter.
Please advice.
Thanks.

Of course.

During initial setup create the new partitions and then choose c or d or e or what ever.

However I'd never install it on anything but c: as this is default and I kinda like default out of the box stuff opposed to bespoke stuff!

Yes, if the OS is already installed you can change the drive letter. I do it all the time with my terminal servers. You should use a drive letter changing utillity though, they usually will go through your registry and make the appropriate changes. Just straight up changing the drive letter can work, just somethings might not like it as well if you don't make the approriate path changes in the registery.

Spirit,
I know you could create partitions, but I don't have an option to choose the drive letter. How and where do I choose them?

w33mhz,
Could you suggest some drive letter changing utilities? Preferably free ones that I can use.

Thanks a bunch.

On a new install you would have to create the partions the OS will pick the drive letters but then you can have the option to install to a partion other than C also if you have more than one drive you can select it.

Life is a big Roleplaying adventure.

Could I choose a particular drive letter to install to?
Thanks.
