Hi all
Does anyone have the experience on installing the IBM DVD-RAM 7210 in AIX 4.3.3 platform
I had plugged in the DVD-RAM, however, I can mkcd into the DVD. Does anyone have any idea how to mkcd into the DVD-RAM.
Please help!

Thanks

Hi

Normaly if your DVD is fully installed, you shouldn't have any problem. I've done it and my dvd ram is now recognized as /dev/cd1.

You can use it as a standard cdr drive. For mksysbs you just have to configure it using a dvd size image.

Thanks for your information.
I'm new in AIX system, I believe I had fully installed the DVD and it comes out /dev/cd1 - available SCSI CD-ROM.
I don't need to create any boot CD in my DVD, I just want to simple copy the personel directory into the DVD, I tried to use the MKCD but it seems need me to create the cd_image first. Any quick way to copy the file/directory into DVD.

Please advice!
Many thanks!
