install SQL 2000 after 2005

We have a W2k8 server with SQL 2005. We want to use this to upgrade our current software packages. The tough part is the packages in the upgrade path need SQL 2000. Can we install SQL 2000 on a W2k8 server running SQL 2005 already.

I don't think that SQL 2000 is supported on Windows 2008.

The recommended install process (on Windows 2003 at least) is...

SQL 2000
SQL 2005
SQL 2000 SP
SQL 2005 SP
