Install Site Admin Templates

Hi all..

Is it possible to install the Site Admin Templates (.stp files) so that they are accesible from all SharePoint Sites, like you can with the .wsp files?

I have looked into the same issue. As far as I know the templates (.stp) will only be visible within a site collection. There is a possibility to extract the files from an stp template and create a site definition. I have not tried it myself, but you most likely have to install the template and then somehow do the extraction.
