Hey ...

Has anyone used Install Shield for packaging a VB App ? I am kinda frustrated using PDW (because it has so many bugs).

I am about ready to begin with Install Shield. Can someone tell me how robust it is ?

Thanks,

I would like to add the following question also -

There is a version of Install Shield that shipped with Visual Studio 6.0, it says Install Shield for Visual C++. Can I use this to package a VB App ?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,

You almost have to take a class to use install shield. If you like working with global variables and oddball functions, then Install Shield is for you. Try install shield for two weeks and you'll come crying back to PDW.

I would recommend that you check out Microsoft's new install utility called "Visual Studio Installer". It's much better than the PDW, but not as complicated and FRUSTRATING to use as install shield.

Best of all, Visual Studio Installer is FREE if you have registered your Visual Studio software. Here's the link:

Install Shield - When it absolutely, positively has to be more complicated then it needs to be!
